Poncho Vesto
Pattern Details
The Poncho Vesto is a chunky weight poncho that is easy to knit, and easy to adapt. This is a great pattern for beginners. Instructions are clearly written, and there is minimal shaping required. Pattern includes 3 sizes (baby, toddler and child), each of which can be made shorter or longer, as desired.
Construction Details
Poncho is knit in 2 pieces. The back and front are knit flat, and seamed at the shoulders.
Stitches are picked up around the neck, and the collar is knit in the round.
A couple of fancy buttons add just the right touch.

size 10.5 (for stockinette stitch body)
size 9, 16” circular (for neckband)
Misc
stitch markers, row counter, tapestry needle, 2 buttons
Gauge
16 stitches = 4” in stockinette stitch, using the larger needles.
Change needles size as necessary, for accurate gauge!

Casting on, knitting, purling, binding off, increasing (yo), decreasing (k2tog and ssk), picking up and knitting stitches, and seaming.
